The ETIS Smart Charging & Payments Working Group is a dedicated community of billing, credit, and payment professionals from European telecom operators and key industry partners.
The group offers a trusted space to exchange operational challenges, process innovations, and technology strategies in billing, collections, and payment experiences. Members collaborate to optimize revenue flows, simplify customer journeys, and adapt to emerging technologies like AI and automation in the telecom ecosystem.

Billing Experience & Platform Resilience: Designing intuitive, transparent, and digitally optimized billing journeys while modernizing legacy platforms and ensuring revenue assurance. Includes AI-powered personalization and anomaly detection.

Payment Innovation & Customer Segmentation: Exploring next-gen payment models (mobile wallets, SEPA Instant) and using AI to tailor payment options based on customer behavior and preferences.

Credit Risk & Collection Strategy: Optimizing credit segmentation, collections efficiency, and proactive dunning using predictive analytics and conversational AI.

System Integration & Automation: Aligning billing with CRM, catalogs, and data lakes, while leveraging automation and AI for dispute resolution, audit flows, and process monitoring.

Compliance, Ethics & Trust: Addressing regulatory requirements and ethical AI in billing and payments — including transparency in algorithms, accessibility, and fairness in collections.

- One In-Person Meeting per Year: Held every June, this full two-day event offers deep-dive discussions, hands-on knowledge sharing, and peer networking in a confidential setting.
- 4–6 Online Activities per Year: We host targeted webinars, roundtables, and knowledge exchanges tailored to member needs. Formats include:
- Peer-Led Knowledge Exchanges: Showcasing projects, lessons learned, and innovation stories.
- Expert Sessions: Insightful talks on emerging trends, tools, and methodologies.
- Benchmarks & Surveys: Anonymous data comparisons to uncover trends and best practices across the telecom sector.
