ETIS – The European IT Association for Telecommunications (ETIS) operates the ETIS.org website (including all content and functionality available through the ETIS.org domain names and any country or region-specific domains or sub domains (jointly referred to as the "Site”). ETIS has created an online community on the Site to enhance your experience. The online community is made up of your personal profile, custom pages, all forums, blogs, file collections, pictures, groups, events, and surveys (jointly referred to as the "Online Community”). These Terms of Use and conditions ("Terms”) apply to all parts of the Online Community. These Terms should be read in conjunction with the ETIS privacy policy.

 

Welcome to the ETIS.org. As of 1st February 2025, Eudonet/Netanswer has been chosen as the new ETIS community platform. Feel free to share, connect and communicate with other members in any of our different community areas. Before you participate, please take a few minutes to read our terms of use. ETIS.org is the place where Telecom employees and professionals that support the Telecom industry in Europe connect, communicate and share knowledge with their peers while discussing industry insider topics online. If you are new to our community, please read these guidelines and check out our tips for getting started and how to benefit from being a member of the ETIS community. A great place to start is building your online profile, because you want to have a face that represents you and your company.

Please note that users who violate these guidelines may be sent a warning and, if necessary, be banned from the network.

5. Use of personal data

The processing of personal data is intended for the management of recruitment, the creation and management of member accounts, our satisfaction surveys, our insertion surveys, the updating of the online directory, the management of commercial relations.

Never provide your password, telephone numbers, or home address to anyone online. Be very careful about responding to solicitations for interviews or research. Never divulge any private or personal information about another person online. That includes the person's real name or address, e-mail address and any other personal information that the person has not asked you to make public. Do not forward or post private messages that someone has sent to you unless you have his or her permission. Only send e-mail to another ETIS member if he or she has given you expressed permission. Please do not solicit other members' personal information.

If you are looking for subjects to interview or participants for a study, please contact the ETIS Manager to ask for permission before querying the ETIS community.

 

Anyone who tries to impersonate an ETIS staff member, writer, expert, host, or other user — or who creates a screen name in order to hide her identity while violating our guidelines — will be banned immediately, permanently and without notice.

 

You are welcome to share photos, videos and audio on ETIS.org, as long as they are consistent with our guidelines. We strongly encourage uploading a photo of you or an image that reflects you and your business or personality.

 

It is fine to mention, link to, or discuss other web sites, including your own, that may be of interest to our members, as long as the web sites you refer to are consistent with our guidelines and not intended to promote or advertise.

 

What data do we collect?

By using www.etis.org, you are required to send us information, some of which may identify you and therefore constitute personal data .This information includes the following data:

  • Account data: refers to the data you enter when creating an account by filling in the registration form.
  • Data made public: this refers to all the information you voluntarily post on the site [website link] and/or the application, such as comments on blogs and forums, photos, forum discussions, etc.
  • Transaction data: this refers to the data you enter when you make purchases on the [website link] website, pay your membership fee or make a donation .This includes information about your payment method. The banking data collected is transmitted to third parties who contribute to processing and satisfying your requests (Stripe, GiveXpert, etc.).
  • Browsing data: this refers to the data we collect when you browse the www.etis.org site, such as the date and time of your connection and/or browsing, your browser type, your browser language and your IP address.

8. User Obligations and Moderation Rules

By accessing and using the Site, you agree to comply with the following obligations:

  • You must not upload, post, or otherwise transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise contrary to applicable law or the rights of third parties.

  • You must not use the Site for purposes of spamming, distributing malware, infringing intellectual property rights, or any other harmful activity.

  • You are solely responsible for the content you share or make available through the Site.

Moderation rules:

  • ETIS reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to monitor, review, and remove any content that is unlawful or otherwise violates these Terms of Use.

  • ETIS may suspend or terminate user access in the event of serious or repeated breaches of these obligations.

  • ETIS will act in accordance with the EU Digital Services Act and applicable Belgian/EU law when moderating content, including by providing notice and reasons for removal or restriction where legally required.

To participate in our community areas (forums, groups, etc.) you agree to the following:

 

a) Do use community areas to comment, share ideas and exchange knowledge.

b) Do not post any advertising, promotional materials, referrals, junk mail, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of solicitation.

c) Do not post anything obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, illegal, harmful, insulting, threatening, abusive, harassing, humiliating, embarrassing, defamatory, libelous, untrue, invasive of someone else's privacy, or objectionable (in our sole discretion).

d) Do not post with the intent to disrupt or disturb the community or to interfere with other members' use and enjoyment of our community.

e) Do not attack character or damage the reputation of other members, name-call, insult, ridicule, harass, mock, or otherwise verbally assault other members of this community.

f) Do not post or link to inappropriate content. Inappropriate content is anything ETIS deems obscene or vulgar.

g) Do not post anything you do not have the right to publish or violate any copyright or other proprietary rights in your posts. That includes excerpting published articles without the author or owner's permission.

 

Spamming and Self-promotion

 

We understand the desire for members to use ETIS.org as a way to promote themselves and their businesses. We want to encourage and foster this, but there are acceptable and unacceptable ways to do this. You may not directly advertise or promote yourself en masse to the membership via messaging, in any comment, in any blog or forum discussion, or any media. The appropriate way to attract attention is to be a periodic contributor of valued content to the site. Brief plugs at the end of contributed content is generally acceptable. If you would like to advertise your company, products or services to the membership at large, please contact us about sponsorship opportunities. A serious violation of the ETIS.org community, is poaching or directly soliciting ETIS members using ETIS.org internal messaging technology for competitive purposes. We are not against competitors or competition, present and future. However, using the ETIS.org and internal email messaging technology or platform to post a self- promoting blog, discussion, or comment on any profile wall with the intent to advertise a competitive web site is in violation of our community guidelines and subject to immediate ban, and probable legal prosecution. 

9. Cookie management

Users are informed that cookies may be installed on their browser. A cookie is a small file that a website places on your computer to store information specific to you. On this site, cookies are used to analyze its audience via the Google Analytics service, and to share information on social networks via the AddThis.... service. In all cases, users are free to manage and delete cookies from their browsers. Users can also manage their cookie preferences via the "customize cookies" link in the footer of the website.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction (Belgium)

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the use of the Site or these Terms of Use shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium, without prejudice to any mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection law granting you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence.
