  • its objectives,
  • recent challenges,
  • and expectations from this 2 days-long meeting.

Session 2, Part 1: Governance of Compliance

Roundtable

 

Building on the previous session, each company is allocated 15 minutes to introduce their compliance governance model, answering the questions of:

  • What does your governance model currently look like?
  • What is the line of reporting like?
  • How do you manage compliance within the company, and how do you govern relationship with the subsidiaries?
  • What kind of governance model would you like to create in the future?
  • What do you need to overcome to achieve your ideal governance model?

We invite participants to present concrete examples backed with organigramme of structure.

Session 3: Roles and Responsibilities of the Compliance Manager

Each company is invited to hold a 10 minutes long presentation on their roles and responsibilities, including:

  • What are your core compliance functions?
  • What are the adjacent compliance domains you are involved in? How is it managed overall?
  • How do you deal with the complexity of the increasing number of compliance responsibilities?

Session 4: Continuous Improvement of the Compliance Function

Participants are invited to share unique use cases about questions like:

  • Have your compliance department recently implemented a new solution to an existing problem, with the help of automation, machine learning, AI, and so on?
  • Or have you implemented substantial changes to restructure or streamline your compliance processes?

Interventions:

  • Presentation by MEO titled: Using AI for legal document search
  • Open discussion led by KPN on the topic of Automatising compliance procedures

Closing session to share feedback and discuss the leftover topics that the group can address at the next in-person meeting in Lisbon, on 25-26 September, hosted by MEO.

Event Context and Expectations

This workshop is a collaborative knowledge-sharing event, where success relies on active preparation and engagement from all participants.

  • Each company must prepare at least one 10-20 minute presentation relevant to the main sessions (ideally addressing one or more of the suggested topics within that session).

  • Topic selection confirmation with the organizer by May 5th and final presentation submission by May 30th.
