This year, ETIS is proud to announce that our 10th annual Community Gathering will take place on 16 and 17 October 2014 in Budapest, Hungary at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus. The event will be held in conjunction with the 48th ETIS Management Board meeting kindly hosted by Magyar Telekom.

The Gathering will feature a common morning session with all of our members followed by our individual Working Group meetings. It has been 10 years since we launched the ETIS Community Gathering and it has also been 10 years since Facebook was launched and Social Media was just a buzz-word. As both the Gathering series and Social Media have reached maturity, this year’s theme has been appropriately entitled:
"How Digital Disruption, OTT players & Social Media are Transforming the Telco Value Chain".

The theme provides an overview of the ‘Digi-Shifting’ trends affecting the Telecoms Value Chain as well as some IT success stories of how our Members are using Social Media and partnering with OTTs in a number of interesting ways to create new business models, engage customers and employees as well as transform organisational culture. The keynote presentation will focus on how social media is transforming the Telecoms industry. The Telecom industry has facilitated the rapid adoption of social networking and social business on a global scale. But to what extent have Telcos used social networking and social tools to transform their own businesses? The adoption of social media by Telcos to engage with customers is still rather low. And with respect to applying social tools to drive innovation, Telcos are clearly outpaced by over-the-top service providers. The Gathering will also feature a welcome address from Christopher Mattheisen, CEO of Magyar Telekom, who will show how Social Media is a key component of Magyar Telekom’s ‘Digital Life’ Strategy.

The remainder of day 1 and all of day 2 will be dedicated to the following ETIS Working Groups:

  • Information Security
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse
  • Billing &  Revenue Management
  • Customer Self-Service
  • CIO Executive Forum
The Gathering is an ideal opportunity for all of the ETIS Members, Associates and Partners to get to network with one another, learn about each other's activities, plans and expectations and above all, share knowledge. In addition to the educational programme, there will be plenty of unique opportunities for networking, with lunches, networking breaks and the Gathering Gala Dinner.
Should you have any questions at all or you are not a member of ETIS and are interested in participating or sponsoring this year's Gathering, please do not hesitate to contact us
