Just like our customers, the Telecom industry is impacted by global trends and new technologies. From trade wars to AI and the fear of automation leading to job uncertainty to climate change. Why must the industry respond? The ability to adapt to these challenges and opportunities in a way customers trust and relate to will differentiate connectivity providers from those that grow to become full service providers.
This year's ETIS Community Gathering, which will take place from October 17 -18, 2019 in Vienna, Austria, will explore the ways in which the Telecom industry can focus its digital transformation and innovation strategies in a way that innovates with purpose.
Forward looking, what will be the purpose and role of the Telco in the digital economy? How can the industry collaborate more to be able to compete with global OTT players and increase European competitiveness?
WHY DO PEOPLE JOIN?
Our meetings are designed to be interactive with tangible, concrete takeaways and solutions derived from workshops and round table discussions. Partnerships and other collaborations are discussed and participants gain deeper insight into trends, discuss challenges and share best practices with their peers across Europe.
The Gathering will be kicked-off by a Common Session Thursday morning that will feature ETIS Chairman Paul Slot and ETIS Management Board Member Alexander Stock as well as renowned keynote speakers including: Andrew Collinson, who will describe his vision of the Coordination Age and the roles that telcos should play in it; Cybersecurity Expert Jaya Baloo, who will discuss how to design for a robust future proof network and deal with the vagaries of international politics played out on network operators as well a hardware and software vendors; and Joop Hazenberg, who will explore the various strategies that telecom operators can take to position themselves in the 5G era – anywhere from being the dumb bit pipe to full integration with verticals such as the automotive or energy sectors.
As the premier gathering of European telecom professionals, this two-day event presents an invaluable networking and knowledge sharing opportunity for all of ETIS' Members, Associates and Partners.
