“What to do when machines do everything: How to get ahead in a world of AI, algorithms, bots and Big Data"

Malcolm Frank will give his view on how artificial intelligence will change industries at large and the telecom sector in particular.

He clearly does not follow the hype in (social) media that we are heading towards a future where machines will take leadership over mankind once the singularity point is reached. Yet Malcolm also believes that AI will lead to a new industrial revolution where future jobs will change significantly. He believes that if you accept, embrace and leverage AI in the right way you as an individual and as a leader in your organization can survive and even thrive in a world where machines do everything. Malcolm’s speech will explain what you should do, why and what will happen if you don’t.

Illustrated with real-world cases, data and insight, Malcolm’s presentation will provide clear strategic guidance and actionable steps to help you and your organization move ahead in a world where exponentially developing new technologies are changing how value is created.

"Transforming the Telco: Developing the instinct for survival in the digital economy"

Martin Creaner will give his view on the future of telcos.

As stated before, the telco sector has been disrupted significantly. Core services (voice, text messaging and now video) are going over the top and this evolution impacts top and bottom line of a telco big time.

Digital transformation is undoubtedly the challenge of this generation of Telco executives, and how well we handle it will determine the shape of the telco industry for decades to come. If we handle it poorly, we will watch the Telco influence being stripped away year on year, until it has little to offer beyond being a communications utility that competes primarily on price. If we handle it well, we will see multiple new types of Telcos emerge, each one ready and able to compete with the rest of the digital economy.

Martin’s speech will present 5 different future scenarios for a digital telco varying from a dumb bit pipe provider to a Integrated Digital Service provider. He will explain which type of transformation journey is needed in order to reach the desired digital telco scenario.

About Martin:

Martin Creaner is widely recognized as one of the leading strategic thinkers in the global communications industry with a successful career as an executive with Motorola and BT, as well as President & CEO of the TM Forum.

Martin has been named among the 25 most influential people in telecom software by Billing World and has been repeatedly named as one of the Global Telecom Business top 100.
