The ETIS Billing & Revenue Management Working Group held its first meeting of the year in Dublin, Ireland, on 23-24 April kindly hosted by Openet. The meeting was attended by 22 participants from companies such as OTE, KPN, eircom, Telus, Turkcell, Lattelecom, LMT, Billing Views, Oracle, Matrixx, Openet, Redknee, Brite Bill, Bango and Disruptive Views.
The Working Group is a unique opportunity for operators to discuss current billing challenges, opportunities, strategies and business drivers influencing the billing and revenue management environment. The presentations provided a base for discussions encompassing a wide variety of case studies, best practices and project implementations.
This particular meeting focused on ‘Transformation Projects’, ‘Benchmarking the Billing Process’, ‘Revenue Assurance‘ and ‘Billing Challenges for Next Two Years‘. The group also conducted a Billing KPIs survey which gathered 13 Telco responses and provided valuable feedback on ‘percentage of incoming calls that relate to billing and payments;’ ‘the average number of days from billing cutoff date to distribution or display of invoices’ and ‘the percentage of invoices that are paid on time.’ Based on the success of this survey, the group decided to establish a yearly Benchmarking study to measure 10 key Billing KPIs that were decided upon during the meeting.
To sum up the outcome of these two busy days, Martin Morgan, Marketing Director, Openet said: “Openet was delighted to host the BRM meeting in Dublin. There was an excellent level of discussion and contribution from all operators and vendors alike. Some very good analysis of new business models and how revenue management is evolving in the digital world. As well as this we had an excellent night out in Dublin’s oldest pub where a few pints were sunk.”
The next Billing & Revenue Management Working Group meeting will be held in Copenhagen in conjunction with the ETIS Community Gathering on 15-16 October. For more information on this activity, please contact Fred Werner at: firstname.lastname@example.org
