On 13-14 March 2014, the ETIS Billing & Revenue Management Working Group held its first meeting of the year in Istanbul, Turkey kindly hosted by Turkcell. The meeting was attended by 29 participants from companies such as A1 Telekom Austria, AVEA, Billing Views, Calvi, Comarch, Deutsche Telekom, Fastweb, KPN, Openet, Orga Systems, OTE, Redknee, Swisscom, TDC, Turk Telekom and Turkcell. Bahadir Uner, Senior Analyst – Turkcell commented on his hosting experience, “It was a great pleasure to welcome all the members in Istanbul. It has been a great chance to share the latest activities and opportunities in Revenue Management. With such successful events, we are sure that we will extend the business and the technology forward. We hope you all enjoyed your time in Istanbul. Looking forward for the next gathering in Budapest. Teşekkürler!”
The Working Group is a unique opportunity for operators to discuss current billing challenges, opportunities, strategies and business drivers influencing the billing and revenue management environment. This specific meeting focused on ‘Telco Billing Strategies & Opportunities’, ‘Revenue Assurance Strategies for Telcos’, ‘Billing simplification programmes,’ ‘Real-Time Rating & Billing’, ‘Billing and Charging as a Service Innovation Platform’, ‘Business billing transformation projects’ and ‘EU Wide Billing challenges related to e-billing and roaming regulations’. The group also conducted a quick Billing & Customer Involvement survey. The topics gave way to discussions encompassing a wide variety of case studies, best practices and project implementations. ETIS is also pleased to welcome its latest Associate Members: Calvi, Redknee and Openet.
Summarising this successful meeting, Alex Leslie from Billing views said, “Apart from the two or three BIG events of the year, there is precious little that lures Billing Views into the fresh air. One, though, is the bi-annual gathering that ETIS hosts. As far as Billing and Revenue Management meetings go it is virtually unique. This is because it is lead and hosted by operators and the discussions are about operators’ operational problems as well as what is about to be put in their ‘in-box.’”
The next Billing & Revenue Management Working Group meeting will be held in conjunction with the ETIS Community Gathering in Budapest, Hungary on 16/17 October. For more information on this activity, please contact Fred Werner at: firstname.lastname@example.org
