The ETIS CERT-SOC and Anti-Abuse Telco Networks met for their first meetings of the year, which were held in parallel and with a number of joint sessions in the Netherlands.
On behalf of ETIS and all of the participants, we would like to thank KPN for the organisation and great hospitality.
The CERT-SOC Telco Network brings together Computer Emergency Response Teams and Security Operations Center professionals to enhance cooperation and leverage the overall security of the Telco infrastructure. This meeting was yet again kicked off with a roundtabe discussion of company updates. Sharing insights into recent incidents and discussing lessons learned in critical areas through presentations, use cases and best practices formed the rest of the meeting.
The Anti-Abuse Telco Network addresses a wide variety of infrastructure and services abuse faced by the Telcos. This time around they discussed the most recent email challenges, abuse prevention, DNS and trust and brand protection. Both Telcos and Associate members attend these sessions, which provides the audience with a wider perspective on each of the challenges.
A first for the groups, the parallel meeting structure proved to be very productive with many interesting discussions on some of the overlapping domains. Thus it was decide that going forward this would be the new format for these two groups.
The next meeting will be held in London from November 7-8, 2019 and kindly hosted by BT.
