On the 19th and 20th of January 2017 the Data Privacy Task Force will meet for its first independent working session. During this two-day event Members of the Task Force will review results of the DPTF Survey  and also discuss important topics related to the GDPR such as the Right to be Forgotten and Data Portability. The meeting will be closed by a common discussion where the Members would like to move forward with the DPTF.  The participants, majority of whom are DPOs of Telefonica, Telenor, Proximus, eir and other companies, will also hold a round table discussion about interpretation of the GDPR.

The Data Privacy Task Force was launched during the ETIS Community Gathering in Zagreb in October 2016. The Task Force has the mandate to deal with progress, further implementation and future impact of the GDPR on Telcos and is planned to run for 18 months. However, according to the participating Members it can be decided to revise both the duration and the mandate according to their needs.

The Data Privacy Task Force was launched under the New ETIS Strategy. The Members will contribute to the better GDPR implementation and compliance by sharing their companies’ use cases, identifying the best practices and resolving ongoing challenges.

This meeting is hosted by Proximus in Brussels. We invite you to join us for this meeting and participate in the Data Privacy Task Force. The registration is still open on the ETIS website. For further information on the Task Force please contact Sepideh Javaherian (
