Last week the ETIS Anti-Abuse Telco Network held a meeting in Reading, United Kingdom which was kindly hosted by our newest Associate Member Symantec. It was attended by 25 people from a variety of companies including 1&1, Abusix, Belgacom, BT, Cyscon, Ericsson, Kaspersky, KPN, M3aawg, Oger Telecom, Orange, Return Path, SISA, Sunrise, Spamhaus, Swisscom, Symantec, Telenor, UPC and Vade Retro.
As during previous meetings, the main goal was to discuss how to reduce spam levels on the Telcos’ networks and how to deal with the latest abuse threats. Additionally, the group exchanged information and views on phishing, malware, botnet suppression, spam/mobile spam trends and statistics, DMARC implementation progress and more. The meeting also focused on the progress and experiences of the ETIS – Return Path Global Trap Exchange which now has over 17 operators actively exchanging spam trap information. Last but not least, the meeting also explored how to further collaborate with M3aawg and the Switzerland Internet Security Alliance (SISA).
The next meeting will take place on 12-13 March 2015. For more information on how to join this group, please contact Fred Werner at: firstname.lastname@example.org
