Some members of the ETIS Information Security Working Group met in Delft, The Netherlands, this week at a Workshop organized by TNO. The goal of the Workshop was to discuss successful practices that arose from this year’s ETIS Information Security Benchmark Study. The Workshop was attended by 11 people from companies such as Swisscom, Slovak Telekom, Turkcell, Vodafone, TDC, Telecom Italia and TNO.
Now in its fourth year, this ETIS Information Security benchmark is motivated by the fact that there are few, if any, Telco specific security benchmarks for top management to consider when deciding what is an optimal amount of resources to spend on Information Security. The study provides an in-depth look at the security of the enterprise environment. It shows where our members perform well, and can be used to identify where improvements could result in substantial value in terms of savings in resources expended, increased performance, and the benefits gained from the introduction of the Information Security best practices.
