Last week the ETIS CERT-SOC Telco Network held its second meeting of 2013 in Sevenoaks, UK kindly hosted by BT. The meeting was attended by 18 participants from 10 companies including AVEA, Belgacom , BT, Deutsche Telekom, KPN, Oger Telecom, Slovak Telekom, Swisscom, Telecom Italia and Turkcell. Although not physically represented at the meeting, an additional 12 ETIS Telco members are actively taking part in the Working Group.
The meeting fed off the great activity already taking place during conference calls and on the ETIS Members Corner and helped further consolidate the objectives the group would like to achieve in the future. During the meeting the group actively exchanged information on latest activities and incidents on their networks and re-iterated the importance of establishing close informal relationships based on trust. Some of the other topics that generated a lot of discussions included methodologies and semantics of a variety of real-life case studies, common incident procedures and best practices and tooling and potential areas of collaboration. Additionally, BT has extended its hospitality to the group by taking everyone on a guided tour of their facilities.
