RISTO SIILASMAA


NOKIA's Chairman of the Board


Risto is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nokia Corporation and an entrepreneur at heart. Through three massive transactions in just two years―the purchase of complete ownership of NSN, the sale of Nokia’s core mobile phone business to Microsoft, and the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent―Nokia was transformed from near death to a successful global technology leader .In addition to leading Nokia’s recent transformation, he is founder and Chairman of the Board of F-Secure, a Finnish internet security and content cloud service provider. As an active promoter of innovation culture, Risto is a well-known business angel, investing in several technology startups and serving on their boards. He was previously Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elisa Corporation from 2008 to 2012. 

He will release his new book, Transforming Nokia: The Power of Paranoid Optimism to Lead Through Colossal Change this October 2018, which focuses on how Nokia revived and reinvented itself as a new industry powerhouse―with leadership lessons for any company confronting massive change.

Martin is seen as one of the leading strategic thinkers in the global communications industry with a successful career as an executive with Motorola and British Telecom, as well as over a decade as President & CEO of the TM Forum, the global industry association for Telecoms Management. Martin has been named among the 25 most influential people in telecom software by Billing World and has twice been named as one of the Global telecoms Business top 100.
