Session 1: "Introduction and Roundtable + Company Updates"

Goal: Welcome speech and agenda overview, followed by a roundtable where all participants introduce themselves (only name, company, role).

 

Company Updates (part I), 80'

 

Goal: Each company is allocated 3 minutes to present what threats you focus on and major updates to most recent strategy or plans you made . Also delivering expectations from this 2-day meeting. New members in the group receive a longer time slot, if requested.

 

A Power Point Template to fill in will be circulated to all members in advance of the meeting. Members who presented their update in Athens (June 2025) are asked to only present news since June.

Session 2: "Powering Resilience: Smarter Investment in Telecom Backup Systems"

Format: Workshop for all BCWG attendees

 

Goal: 

  • Review the latest EU & national regulatory expectations around telecom power resilience.
  • Identify investment limits and cost-effectiveness trade-offs in current backup strategies (diesel, battery, hybrid, renewable).
  • Exchange practical insights on what’s working — and what’s outdated — in energy continuity planning.
  • Co-create a shared matrix of impactful actions (technical + policy + operational) to guide next-phase investments.

  • 3 groups of 5 participants are created, each one with a rapporteur
  • 30 min is allocated for each breakout group discussion
  • 10 min for Group 1 to present their results + Q&A

Final product:

  • A subset of group members is invited to work on a one-pager of best practices to be circulated amonst the group.

Session 3: "JOINT SESSION - BCWG and SAWG: Creating and Facilitating a Business Continuity Awareness Campaign"

Session 7: "Dora & NIS2 requirements and how to respond? - What is expected from the 2025 digital omnibus package?"

Format: Discussion

 

Intro: The “Digital Omnibus” is an umbrella concept the Commission uses to bundle simplification and coherence measures across the digital regulatory acquis: data, AI, cybersecurity, ePrivacy, and related legislation. It builds on “call for evidence” steps, stakeholder feedback, and subsequent proposals to reduce administrative burden, streamline reporting and compliance rules.

 

Goal: BCWG members are to discuss their expectations regarding the impact of the changes proposed.

10' Roundtable at the end: every attendee is asked to reflect on the last 2 days and come up with at least 1 topic to address in the next BCWG meeting in Riga, 28-29 May 2026.

Event Context and Expectations

This workshop is a collaborative knowledge-sharing event, where success relies on active preparation and engagement from all participants.

  • Participants are invited to prepare a 15-20 min presentation relevant to one of the main sessions (ideally addressing one or more of the suggested topics within that session).
  • Topic selection confirmation with the organizer by early January 2026 and final presentation submission by late January 2026.
  • Meeting is held under Chatham House Rules, following ETIS confidentiality and anti-trust policy which is distributed to every attendee.

This event is partly sponsored by ETIS and its partners. Lunch & coffee breaks are free of charge, as is the evening activity. Dinner on day 0 is at participants' own expense, while the Dinner on day 1 can be sponsored (TBC). Participation is free of charge.

Participation is open to ETIS member companies (and guests with special invites), and attendees are expected to actively contribute to discussions and presentations.
