Fighting SPAM, Botnets & Phishing since 2007...

In early 2007, ETIS initiated a pilot project to explore the potential of active Anti-Spam co-operation among ETIS member ISPs. In the following years, this has turned into an established ETIS Anti-Spam Co-operation Working Group. Since the fall of 2013, the group officially widened its focus to reflect the ever-changing nature of internet threats. The newly re-named ETIS Anti-Abuse Telco Network is now addressing a wider range of network abuse issues such as phishing and botnet activity from a new perspective as the group continues to share knowledge and learn from one another as well as from other experts in the field.

Below are some of the topics currently being tackled by the group:

  • SPAM & Mobile SPAM
  • Botnets & DDOS attacks
  • Phishing, spear-phishing, drive-bys, etc...
  • ETIS - ReturnPath Anti Spam Feedback loop
  • ETIS Anti-SPAM Best Practices

Over the years, the group has produced a number of influential documents including the ETIS Best Practices in Anti-Spam and developed an active feedback loop project in cooperation with Return Path.  An updated version of the Best Practices document is due to be released in 2014 and the ETIS - ReturnPath Feedback Loop is being reviewed to include more options to share information about a greater variety of threats.

The ETIS Central Office representative for this group is Martin Hrdlicka, Communications & Community Manager

The group meets twice a year at various locations in Europe hosted by ETIS Member Telco companies supported by an active online community. The group is an open group for all ETIS Telco members and Associates. Please take the time to check out our Working Groups' schedule on the ETIS Calendar.
