We are looking forward to welcoming them to the ETIS community and seeing them at future events.
About Romtelecom
Romtelecom is a company in full swing on the Romanian communications market. In the last years, Romtelecom has evolved intelligently, with many efforts, from a former state monopoly to a private company that is now connected to the sophisticated technology of this millennium.
Today, Romtelecom offers reliable, innovative and easy-to-use services, from the traditional fixed telephony to high quality Internet, digital TV, to the most secure hosting data center in Romania, voice and data bundled services and a permanently supervised and improved Customer Care program.
Romtelecom, the leader of the fixed line communications market in Romania, went through a period of major transformations in the last years, managing to successfully face the challenge of becoming a more efficient operator and of developing its portfolio of alternative services, besides its traditional offer of fixed line telephony.
Currently, the company offers to its clients voice, data and broadband Internet services, bundled packages including IT equipments, as well as complex IT&C solutions. At the same time, the company continuously worked to improve its customer care service, objective which was best expressed by the “Customer 1st” programme, launched in 2007.

ETIS Community Gathering 2009 Summary |
ETIS Members met in Istanbul last fall to share knowledge at the ETIS Community Gathering 2009. The Gathering was held in conjunction with the 38th Management Board hosted by Turkcell. This highly successful event brought together 150 participants from 46 companies to share knowledge on key ICT issues facing the Telecom industry.
The Gathering began with a common session on the topic of 'Data is King - The key asset for Future Telco business!'. The session looked at how 'Data' has become the Telco's core asset and how to best take care of that key asset in order to achieve business objectives, create new business opportunities and try to anticipate where the competition is heading.
The remainder of the Gathering was dedicated to parallel sessions for the following working groups: Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement & Vendor Management, Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse and Customer Self Service. The Gathering also featured a CIO Stream that covered the topics of 'Demonstrating business value gained by the innovative use of data in Telcos' and 'Generation network and Tactical Procurement issues'.
This Gathering was an ideal opportunity for all of the members, associates, partners and working groups to get to know one another, learn about each other's activities, plans and expectations and above all, share knowledge.
The presentations and photos from the Gathering are available on the ETIS Members Corner. If you are not yet a member of ETIS and would like to join the next Gathering located in Stockholm on 14-15 October, please contact Fred Werner at: fw@etis.org |

About Teradata
Teradata enables Telcos to have more intelligent interactions with their customers. We integrate data across lines of business and remove the 'islands of cost' associated with data mart proliferation. Our view is that integrated data drives lower cost and higher value. In short, exploiting integrated, detailed data drives smarter actions.
Our Telco customers use detail data to be proactive, not reactive. They don't just report on 'number of calls into the call centre' or 'frequency of dropped calls' after the fact but they do integrate OSS and BSS data to really understand the customer.
Eleven of the world’s top twelve telecommunications companies and over 900 market leaders choose Teradata to drive business value from business intelligence. Teradata is consistently recognised as the leader in data warehouse solutions.
With nearly 6,000 employees and $1.7 billion revenues, Teradata is the largest company solely dedicated to delivering data warehouse solutions.
Our award-winning solutions use the most powerful, scalable, and reliable technology platforms in the industry and have been implemented in more than 2000 customer locations worldwide.

>> IIR Managed Services & Network Sharing
19-21 April 2010 - Hilton London Tower Bridge Hotel, London
Part of IIR’s famous Network Strategy Series, this key industry event brings together Managed Services, Network Sharing, CAPEX and OPEX reduction and major telecoms cost saving initiatives in a multi-streamed event.
URL: http://www.iir-events.com/IIR-Conf/page.aspx?id=24440
Network economic activities are at the heart of Mobile Operator strategies in 2010.
The current economic crisis and resulting unavailability of credit is pushing Mobile Operators to radically reduce CAPEX and OPEX. Drawing on business models from alternative industries, such as aviation and transport, many of the large Operator groups are developing innovative business partnerships to reduce CAPEX and move to fixed Opex-led models.
- Are you currently involved in projects to bring down the cost of your network expenditure?
- Do you want to learn how the major Operator groups are developing internal offshoring initiatives to reduce costs?
- Do you want to hear how Mobile Operators have reduced their Network related spends by up to 25% through network sharing?
- Do you understand how to maximise cost-saving through managed services by outsourcing both the core and access network planning, operations and maintenance?
- Do you want to hear how the financial community can fund your network build?
If you have answered yes to any of the above, then make space in your diary for this key industry event.
This senior-level strategy forum will have CxO and Director level speakers from the major worldwide mobile operators.
