Combating online abuse in Geneva

What are the technical vulnerabilities of email? How do criminals obtain domain names? How can we cooperate to best combat spam? Is your company part of the anti-spam feedback loop collaborative? Are phishing attacks on the rise? What are the results of the ITU Anti-spam survey? What is DMARC and how is it used for authentication? How to protect companies and customers from attacks? How will GDPR influence what we do?
These are just some examples of the questions that were discussed during the first ETIS Anti-abuse Telco Network meeting of the year, which took place in Geneva, Switzerland from March 21- 23 and was hosted at the premises of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Aside from the usual two full days of discussions and knowledge sharing, for the first time, a joint workshop was organised on Wednesday afternoon together with guests from the ITU SG17.
The ETIS Anti-abuse Working Group is the right platform for all abuse desk, spam, mail, and other IT security related experts from ETIS Member companies as well as partnering organisations to collaborate and tackle all abuse-related challenges in the Telecom industry.
