On 21-22 April, the ETIS Procurement & Vendor Management Working Group got together for its first meeting of the year in Brussels, Belgium, kindly hosted by Proximus. The meeting was attended by 9 participants from 5 Telcos, including Proximus, KPN, TeliaSonera, Turkcell and Lattelecom. In addition, Mats Lundin, Matsbay, acting Chairman of the PVM WG, Jack Zimmerman from Current Analysis and Mark Barratt from Harpyja joined the sessions.
The meeting began with a warm welcome from Paul Marien, Lead Manager Procurement Center of Excellence at Proximus who started the day by presenting an overview of Proximus’ procurement activities. The following sessions then focused on Cloud Computing, Vendors and Trends in BSS, Procurement of IT tools and a presentation from our guest speaker, Andy De Petter, on Cyber Security at Proximus and its links to procurement.
The second day of the meeting was initiated by Rafael Vols, Procurement Performance Manager at Proximus, who delivered a presentation on Reporting in Procurement. During the remaining time, the group held an interactive Café Session on Vendor Consolidation and Vendor Management. All participants were pleased with the productive discussion and knowledge exchange with peers from various Telcos in this open and trusted environment.
The group also dedicated a portion of time towards planning a Webinar that will take place in June. The next PVM Working Group meeting will be held in conjunction with the ETIS Community Gathering on 15-16 October in Copenhagen, Denmark.
