The ETIS CERT-SOC Telco Network held its second meeting of the year in Rome kindly hosted by Telecom Italia on 5-6 November 2014. The meeting was attended by 17 participants from 9 companies including Belgacom, BT, Deutsche Telekom, KPN, Oger Telecom, Swisscom, TDC, Telecom Italia and T-mobile Poland.
The main goal of the meeting was to bring together CERT and SOC specialists from ETIS member organizations in order improve the overall security of the telecommunications infrastructure through exchange of information, intelligence and experiences, and sharing of knowledge in the areas of cyber intelligence and security.

During the first day, the meeting focused on latest organizational activities including an in-depth session on Digital Forensics. On the second day, the group discussed and shared knowledge on more operational and technical topics including responses to vulnerabilities like Shellshock, dealing with protocol abuse and building up cyber intelligence capabilities. Participants also exchanged the latest information on communication tools and interesting case studies.
The next CERT-SOC meeting will be hosted by A1 Telekom Austria in Vienna on 26-27 March 2015.
