Last week, the ETIS Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing Working Group held its first meeting of 2014 in Den Haag, The Netherlands, which was kindly hosted by T-mobile Netherlands. It was attended by 20 people from a variety of companies including Deutsche Telekom, KPN, EMT, Fastweb, Swisscom, T-mobile Netherlands, T-Systems, Vodafone Netherlands, B-inIT, Openet, Oracle, Splunk and Tableau.
Summarising the successful meeting, Hermen Geerts from our host T-mobile Netherlands said: "TMNL was proud to host the ETIS BI&DW Working Group meeting this year. We very much enjoyed the interesting open sessions and discussions on challenging topics with our Telco BI guests on challenges we all face now and in the future. Hopefully the next meeting we can conclude the end of the EDW is not imminent.”
As during previous meetings, the main goal was to discuss how to drive business value and exchange knowledge in the Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse area whilst innovating the BI field. The group also updated each other on the latest projects, strategies, opportunities and challenges. This particular meeting focused on Big Data, Hadoop & Cloud, data monetization and privacy challenges, Agile BI and BICC. The group also discussed the End of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and the future of Business Intelligence in general.
