ETIS is pleased to announce that the next Community Gathering will be organised in Riga, Latvia, 17 - 18 October 2013 at the Radisson Blue Daugava Hotel. The Gathering will feature a common morning session with all of our members followed by our Working Group meetings. The theme of the Community Gathering 2013 is: Future Telecom Business Drivers & IT Implications .

The future looking theme, is inspired by the keynote presentation by world-renown futurologist, Dr. Ian Pearson, who will present: ‘A Trip to Future: Are we about to enter into the context & trust brokering business?’. From 1991 until 2007 Ian worked for BT, where he invented numerous patents and went on to become BT’s futurologist tracking and predicting new developments throughout Telecoms and information technology, considering both technological and social implications. The goal of this presentation is to stimulate our members into thinking ‘outside of the box’ and to engage with future-looking topics not normally covered in their daily work or within the confines of the working groups.
The Gathering will also feature a welcome address from Juris Gulbis, CEO of Lattelecom, who will show how Lattelecom has helped to position Latvia as an e-country and information super highway for Europe. Additionally, Dr. Oscar Cicchetti, Chief Strategy Officer for Telecom Italia, will present on their ‘Future Vision: Business drivers and IT implications’. Rounding off the morning will be a presentation from Google that will provide a future looking ‘over-the-top’ perspective; whilst Ericsson will present their ‘Vision for a Networked Society’.
The remainder of day 1 and all of day 2 will be dedicated to the following ETIS Working Groups: Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement & Vendor Management, Business Intelligence & Data Warehouse, Billing & Revenue Management, Customer Self-Service and the CIO Executive Forum. Both the common session and the parallel working group meetings will provide the opportunity for our members to learn from one another how to do better business in the future.
The Gathering is an ideal opportunity for all of the ETIS Members, Associates and Partners to get to network with one another, learn about each other's activities, plans and expectations and above all, share knowledge. In addition to the educational programme, there will be plenty of unique opportunities for networking, with lunches, networking breaks and the Gathering Gala Dinner.
This Gathering is open to ETIS Members, Associate Members, Partners, Working Groups participants and invited guests. This event is supported by Ericsson who is a Gold Sponsor of the ETIS Community Gathering 2013.
