ETIS

ETIS has been actively involved in the area of Billing in Telcos for many years now. ETIS has been running an Electronic Billing working group since the early 90’s and has also hosted a number of successful Billing Workshops.

Following the success of the kick-off Billing group meeting held in Amsterdam in November 2009, ETIS has expanded the scope of the ETIS Billing Working Group to include more top level strategic billing issues and not only the ETIS e-billing Data Model.

The ETIS Billing Working Group is a unique opportunity for operators to discuss current billing challenges, opportunities, strategies and business drivers influencing your billing environment.

Below are some of the topics currently covered by the Billing group:

• Alternative business and billing models
• Partner billing (reselling, incorporation of services, billing as a service)
• Transaction based billing (selection of services and service components, hot billing, advice of charge)
• Ecological aspects of paperless billing-
• Cost of billing, cost drivers and cost cutting strategies
• Revenue assurance
• Quality of billing services (mastering six sigma)
• Electronic Billing

The group has also developed a CD-Rom that provides the ETIS community with the ETIS Electronic Billing Standard in the XML and EDIFACT formats. The ETIS EDIFACT and XML standard and solution are the only standards on the market as there are currently no other developments in XML to define telecom invoices for end-customers.
