CIO Executive Forum

Telecom profits are continuing to drop while the pressure to build business through technological differentiation continues. Telcos at all levels are struggling with convergence, integration, cost reduction, managing resources and new business models in this fast changing environment. The Telco's CIOs are now strategically placed to influence the Telco's innovation, transformation and organization and ETIS is the platform where they can get together and discuss these challenges.

In response to the critical issues facing the CIOs in the Telecom industry, ETIS launched the CIO Executive Forum. The CIO Workshops have been running since 2003 and is one of the cornerstones of ETIS. The forum provides a unique opportunity for CIOs from the telecommunication providers, to share , knowledge and experiences, and to discuss the current challenges, such as the use of IT to enable real transformations of companies.
Since 2003, ETIS has had several CIO workshops hosted by member companies such as BT, Deutsche Telekom, KPN, BTC, OTE, Eircom and Belgacom. During these workshop our CIOs present on a wide range of themes such as 'Balancing Business Transformation with Cost Optimisation', 'Value Creation - Network Economy', ‘How to use sourcing as a competitive advantage’, ‘The Search for Simplicity’,'A Turning Point for CRM? Simplifying the future customer-centric Telco’ and‘Transformation plans and the changing role of IT in the organisation’.

The workshops provide a trusted environment where the CIOs can speak openly and share knowledge on the ever-changing challenges they are facing. Not only do the CIOs learn from one another but they build a valued network that can be relied upon in between meetings. Adding to the mix are the keynote strategic presentations from some of the leading experts in the industry such as Gartner, Morgan Chambers, IMD, Pharos, Boston Consulting Group and Current Analysis. The role of the experts is to shed light on the CIOs challenges and provide a structured way of looking at the problems as well as providing key recommendations. ETIS is a member driven organisation and it is the members that decide the future topics of the CIO Workshops. The ETIS CIO Executive Forum is chaired by the ETIS Chairman.
