Last week, ETIS held
its annual Global Conference, 'Aligning Business
& IT in the Information Age' in Stockholm,
Sweden. This highly successful conference gathered
together delegates from 15 countries and 35 companies,
including representatives from 13 major telcos.
The education programme consisted of sessions
on a variety of topics, giving the delegates an
opportunity to discuss the latest innovations
in the industry, including changes in the telecommunications
market, information security, the business value
of the portal and business application portfolio
management. The conference focused on the way
that IT can be used to improve business performance
and lower costs for telcos, to create business
platforms that enable corporate flexibility, innovation
and market penetration. The speakers were high-level
executives from the world of telecommunications,
including speakers from Belgacom, BT, Deutsche
Telekom, TeliaSonera, Telenor and Oracle.
In addition to the education programmes, there
were plenty of unique opportunities for networking,
with lunches, networking breaks and the pleasant
gala dinner, hosted by Computas, in the magnificent
surroundings of Skansen open air museum on the
outskirts of Stockholm.
