ETIS recently held its 3rd Community Gathering, which was kindly hosted by OTE in Athens, Greece on 25-26 October 2007. The Gathering was well attended and brought together over 120 participants from 35 companies.
The Gathering kicked off on Thursday 25 October 2007, with a welcome from the Chief Operating Officer of OTE, Mr. Aivezis and ETIS Chairman, Tora Tenden. The focus of this Gathering was 'Top Management's Business Requirements to IT' as well as looking ahead at 'Strategies for implementation of IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)'. The first day featured presentations from Atos Consulting, SeaQuation, Current Analysis, TNO, Teliasonera and Telecom Italia. The day ended with the Gathering dinner, which was held under the scenic Acropolis.
The second day, Friday 26 October 2007, was dedicated to individual working sessions for the following working groups: Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Procurement & Vendor Management, Electronic Billing and Customer Self Service. The Gathering also featured a CIO Workshop, which focused on the 'Critical enablers to succeed in the Telcos transformation'. This workshop featured presentations from CIO's of OTE and France Telecom and the Executive Enterprise Architects of BT and Deutsche Telekom.
This gathering was an ideal opportunity for all of the members, associates, partners and working groups to get to know one another, learn about each other's activities, plans and expectations and above all, share knowledge. ETIS would like to sincerely thank Andreas Asimomitis from OTE and his team for hosting this event and their excellent hospitality.
The presentations from the Gathering are available on the ETIS Members Corner at: http://www.etis.org/members/area.asp?id=42
